Your information.
Lobbico is an independent hotel discovery project founded by Sam. This notice describes the current website. For questions about its operation or your information, contact hello@lobbico.com.
When you browse
You can explore hotels, watch videos and save hotels on your device without an account. Our hosting and media services receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details and requested pages or files to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We record interactions with published hotels: page views, video plays and completions, hotel saves, introductions, field stamps, sharing actions and clicks to hotel websites. A random identifier in browser local storage, or a signed-in account identifier, is hashed to estimate distinct visitors across reporting periods. A separate hashed network identifier limits abusive requests. Raw IP addresses are not stored in our engagement-event table; hosting and service providers may process them in their own logs.
Hotel teams see engagement totals for their properties, not a named list of visitors or their private saved hotels. These counts measure interest, not confirmed bookings. Private editing previews and recognized signed-in activity from the hotel’s team or super admins are excluded from the new reports.
When you create an account or manage a hotel
We process your account name, email address, verification and sign-in information. Hoteliers can also provide a contact name, contact email and phone number. We keep the hotels you manage, your role, invitations, claim evidence, listing submissions, media uploads, review decisions and service notifications. Administrative logs record listing and access changes.
We use this information to provide your account, verify your connection to a hotel, protect access, publish and maintain listings, review videos, and respond to requests. Private account contact details and claim evidence are not displayed on guest pages. Information entered into public hotel, person or stamp fields becomes public when published.
Saved stays & sharing.
Only hotels can be saved. Before sign-in, saves are stored in this browser’s local storage. Clearing that storage removes the device copy. Signing in merges device saves into your account so they can be available across devices.
We also store a pseudonymous save record on our servers to calculate public popularity. A signed browser cookie lasts up to one year; signing in connects this browser’s records to your account. The gold rank counts active saves first made in the past 90 days. Removing and re-adding a hotel does not refresh that date. These are estimates: browser storage changes can affect deduplication. Public totals never reveal who saved a hotel.
A shared shortlist lets each browser or signed-in account choose one favorite and change or remove that vote. We store a hashed identifier and selected hotel; anyone with the link can see vote totals. Shortlist votes do not affect public hotel rankings.
Creating a short share link stores the collection title and the selected hotel IDs on our servers. It does not add your name or email to the public collection. Anyone with the link can open it without signing in or forward it to someone else. Don’t put private information in the title.
Each short link keeps the selection made when you created it; changing your saved hotels later does not update that link. The page displays current published information for those hotels and hides hotels that are no longer listed. Links do not expire automatically.
The browser tab that created the latest link keeps a private token in session storage so you can disable it. Losing that tab’s stored data can remove this control. If you can no longer disable a link, send us its URL. Older account-based live-list links stay connected to that account’s selection and can be switched off in Saved Stays. Disabling a link stops access through Lobbico, but cannot remove copies or screenshots someone already made.
Hotel editors also use session storage to recover unsaved changes. Sign-in uses authentication cookies. The current site does not use advertising pixels or sell personal information, and spotlight placement is not based on a visitor’s personal profile.
Services & payments.
We use service providers to run the site. They receive the information required for the features they deliver:
- Vercel hosts the website and stores uploaded images and caption files through Vercel Blob.
- Neon provides account authentication and the database for listings, saves, account records and engagement events.
- Mux processes and delivers uploaded videos. Images and videos in some listings may also be served by their original publishers or external media hosts.
- Google delivers web fonts and embedded place maps. These services can receive your network and browser information when their content loads. If hotelier place search is enabled, the place names you search are sent to Google.
- YouTube or Vimeo may load for existing externally hosted clips. Opening those clips can load the provider’s player, cookies or other storage under its own policies. Newly uploaded videos use our direct video player.
- Stripe handles optional paid spotlight checkout. We retain the hotel, account, amount, quarter, payment status and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are entered into Stripe’s checkout; our application does not store full card numbers.
Account security emails are handled by the authentication service. Hotel review and other service emails can be sent through Resend when email delivery is enabled; that service receives the recipient address and message. We do not automatically subscribe hotel teams or visitors to a marketing mailing list.
We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, resolve a dispute or protect the service and its users. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. External hotel, map and other links lead to separately operated services with their own privacy practices.
Hotels can buy three months of Spotlight membership for $25 USD, without automatic renewal. Members appear in the paid directory, rotating daily after the top five. Members may also bid in $1 increments for five featured positions across discovery views; bids reset each calendar quarter. Sponsored results respect the visitor’s search or destination. Payment never changes save, recommendation or permanent membership rankings. This funds the project and is not a quality rating. Listing a hotel, claiming an existing listing and sending guests to its website are free. Booking terms, prices, payments and cancellations are handled by the hotel or its booking provider.
Storage & your choices.
Account records, saved collections, claim and review records, engagement events, pseudonymous save and shortlist-vote records, recommendations and payment records currently have no fixed automatic expiry in the application. We retain them to operate the service, maintain access and publication history, address disputes and keep payment records. Contact us to request deletion or review of information we no longer need; some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting or security reasons.
Unused uploaded media becomes eligible for cleanup after it has been identified as unreferenced for at least 30 days. Referenced media stays available while it is used by a published listing or editing version. Archiving a hotel hides its public page; it does not itself erase the underlying records or uploads. Provider logs, cached copies and backups follow the relevant provider’s retention processes.
You can remove saved hotels, disable links you control, update hotelier contact information in your account, and use your browser’s controls to clear cookies and local or session storage. Clearing browser data can sign you out, remove device-only saves and remove your ability to disable a guest share link from that tab.
You can contact us to request access, correction, a copy, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to a data-protection regulator. We may need to verify your connection to an account or listing before acting. The current app does not offer a self-service account deletion tool.
Where a legal basis is required, we process account and requested service information to provide those services; use proportionate security, administrative and engagement processing for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the site; comply with legal obligations; and obtain consent where required. This notice is not itself a request for consent.
Your content. Your ownership.
Hotel names, trademarks, photographs, videos, portraits and written contributions remain the property of their respective owners or licensors. Creating a listing, uploading a file or claiming a page does not transfer those rights to Lobbico. Lobbico’s own design, software and original editorial material are separate from hotel and contributor content.
Only submit material you own or have permission to publish, including permission for people’s portraits and contributions where needed. The permission we need is to host, process, resize, crop, transcode and display that material as part of Lobbico’s listings and related share previews. That does not give us ownership of your work or permission to sell it as stock content.
Attribution does not replace permission. A hotel claim verifies who may manage a page; it does not establish copyright ownership of every item on that page. If you believe a photo, video, story or portrait is being used without permission, email us with the page URL, the specific material and your connection to it. We can investigate, correct attribution or remove it.
Please don’t reuse someone else’s listing content simply because it appears here. Ask the relevant rights holder. Removing content from a listing may not instantly remove provider caches, existing share previews or copies made by others.
Listings, claims & corrections.
Lobbico can create an initial hotel listing using researched public information, appropriate links and material we have permission to publish. Hotel teams can also create their own private listing and submit it. An editorial listing does not mean the hotel has paid us, endorsed Lobbico or entered a partnership.
Our aim is to give guests an inside look and send them directly to the hotel—not to charge hotels to control their own identity or to intercept bookings. Authorized hotel representatives can claim an existing page for free. We check their connection before granting editing access. Once a listing is approved, most saved information changes publish directly; new videos are reviewed before publication.
Verified hotel teams can publish recommendations with a contributor’s name, role and quote. These appear on hotel pages and share previews. Recommendations for hotels not yet listed stay private until an administrator connects them to a published hotel. The green rank counts independent recommending teams; paid spotlight has no effect. A cream membership number records when a verified hotel team joined and stays with the hotel. It does not indicate quality.
Hotels and contributors can request corrections or removal without purchasing spotlight. Review is not a guarantee that every statement will remain current. Confirm dates, offers, accessibility details and other important arrangements with the hotel before booking.
